When I adjust it to 40 psi with the vacuum line disconnected and then reconnect the vacuum line it stays at 40. I let the truck idle for 15 minutes last night and the pressure came down to about 34 psi under vacuum, but when driven the pressure stays at about 44 and will rise to about 60 at WOT...
I had to short the wires before the resister to even get that type of fuel pressure...
have you changed anything about your fuel system since then?

was the reason your fuel pressure did not change because of a vacume leak?
