2003 Build Numbers
#47
My L is Grey, # is 290, build on 12/13/02. You see, my truck was built on Friday the 13th also. What a b!tch that is. I got her on 12/21/02, that is just 8 days after she left the factor. Not to bad, if you ask me.
The only problem she has had, was the front passenger side shock bolt came loose, and was about ready to fall out. But my dealer fixed that with out a problem. She has been a great truck so far. She has gone 13.59, @ 101.89 in the 1/4 mile, so I'm D@ME happy with it. Not to bad for a stock truck!!

Anyway, truck sat on dealers lot til I purchased it new on 5/14/03.
A couple of weird things wrong with the L thus far. It came with one black plastic door handle and one metal color handle. Now, talk about quality control that day.. Also, a rattle in the drivers door where they left a plastic wire tie out that should have been there. Oh, a screw was floating around on a track just below the slider window. When I went left, it slid right and when I went right it went left. Just enough noise to hear it and drive ya crazy.
Took me an hour one morning to hunt that screw down. Aside from that hood stops not adjusted properly and a small mark in the clearcoat on one of the lower parts of one of the body accents that had to be repainted by a body shop. That's it! Can tell you I have had a new car or truck pretty much every year since 1965 (will keep this one for more then a year for sure) and this one had the least new truck problems. Thus far the L has 7,000 miles. Not a mark on it. Have towed with it on occasion and used it pretty much daily but I have gotten an old Toyota Corolla to use on the bad days and in the Winter. Have done quite a few mods (see list below) but have kept that at a dull roar in order to try to keep the warranty. Will close by saying that this 54yo loves his L ! http://www.auffarth.com/LightningSpecs.html

Read the post above I previously made. Mine was #282 and build on Friday the 13th day of Dec. 2002. It's DSG in color. I bought mine at the dealer on 5/14/03. Thanks to sitting awhile on the dealers lot there was some surface rust here and there on the frame that I needed to paint over. I just changed my fuel filter at 7,000+ miles because I felt mileage was enough to warrant the filter change but also because that filter has been on there close to a year.
