well truck has been fine lately just a few little things here and there. So last night i jump on it and truck felt good shifted 2nd and didnt catch hit limiter and took foot off gas, Slamed into second and then acted like it wasnt in any gear, gave it a little gas and the truck was fine.

Now today i was like let me see, under full throttle it wont shift into 2nd, and its taking longer on regular driving to shift.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

 

you might try resetting the ecu via the battery cable. check the transmission fuses to see if any are blown.

 

GMNightmare, what part of city you from?

 

Sorry to say but I think you have a real trans. problem..... Just guessing, but maybe a sticking valve???

mine did the same thing. im not sure if you want to hear it or not. but I blew my tranny after driving it for only 7,000 miles. (28,000 on the odo) Ford was able to warranty it but I was real lucky.
My truck wouldn't shift outa first if I was giving it gas. As soon as I took my foot off the gas, wether it was at 3,000rpms or 5,000 r's it would slam into gear. But then it would drive fine. Is your's just not going into 2nd or what is going on?

Try shifting from 1st to 2nd with the gear shifter. Mine was doing the same thing. If it was in DRIVE, it would only shift out of low gear if you let off the gas. When I shifted it manually, no second gear. So it was actually going from first to third when in DRIVE.

It shifts normal but late, if i take my foot off it will shift. Now ill go see if i have second gear when i head out for the nite.


Last nite had 2 casualties My tranny and the rear diff cover on our 03 cobra. I hate august.

You were trying to tell me how lightnings were 1 night and thinking we were dumb .

well i tried manually shifting the truck and 2nd is there barely, Time to call the ext warr company and get a monster box.

Mine did the same thing about a month ago. My TPS was bad.

well i hate to tell You the car is basically stock, No cams, No Pulley.

Cai, new mufflers,And a chip.
