A Weird Shackle Question...

Hey guys!

Is there such thing as a shackle that RAISES the rear?

I am ordering the Roush kit, and the rear sits too low for my liking. I only need a 0.5"-0.75" raise in the rear....

This is probably the weirdest thing you guys have ever heard, but I love that huge rake the stock suspension has.

You might be able to use shorter shackles, you will have to be carefull as the shackles are what allows the springs to stretch when you hit bumps.

Too much snow up there in Canada, eh?

LOL, from one Canuck to another......

Why not drill new holes in the frame rail adjusting the current shackle you are using?

Good Luck!

T.O., I had to do this for my sway bar arms, when I lowered my L 3" in the rear. It was very simple with the right tools, but.......

I should have looked at the shackle braces before suggesting you do this, which I just did, duh. Way more complicated than I thought. The brackets or braces, (what ever you want to call them) that hold the base of the shackle are connected to the frame rails at four points both top and bottom. It appears much more complicated than my arm adjustment. I still think it could be done as a last resort, but by a professional.

Hopefully someone else knows of another option!

Good Luck!

I would get someone to machine spacers to go between the axle and the leafs before I would mess around with shorter shackles.

Here's my dilemma:

I am doing the Roush. I like the completeness of the kit, but the back is too low.

I am willing to either : drop the front to create rake, or raise the rear.

I made a previous post about using lowered control arms AND the Roush springs, and it is not feasible.

Is there any way to further drop the front 0.5-0.75" without control arms ?

I am sorry for all these questions, but I know you guys know your stuff well!

Thanks in advance,
M.R.

What about having the new leafs re-arked (sp). A good spring shop should be able to do that for you. That way you can keep all the original mounting points.
