street drag tires again

most of the people running the differrant street drag radials talk about how they work on the drag strip.but will they do any good on the street?i need a tire that want spin when i nail the throttle in second gear on the STREET!i realize that doing it in first gear is probably out of the question.with out all the drag strip hype will any of them do any better than the f 1 s on the STREET.i know this has been hashed over till the cows come home but i want to know if they are worth the change on the street.if they want do much better than f1s on the street then im not wasteing my money.

Not sure if you consider the Nitto 555r's to be a street slick, but with the air pressure down to 24lbs they hook (in my opinion) better than the F1's - But I can't just mash it to the floor, that is certain. The throttle has to be feathered!

My hoosier 28x11.5x16 work well on the street. Better than the nitto drag radials, nitto 555's or F1's.

by drags what do you mean. Drag radials? Here is a pic. Up top they don't but near the bottom they do. The hoosiers stick out on the top a little.

315/35/17 = 25.68 inches tall
305/45/18 = 28.81 inches tall

If you already have wheel spin a shorter tire will not help. Not even if it is a little less than half inch wider.

I like the Nitto 305/55/18s....they are 32.4" tall and bring my gear down to a 3.55 for better launching on the street........
