Why you love your L!
Hey all!
I got a flat tire today and took my truck to Merchant's Tire during my lunch break to see if they could patch it for me. Unfortunately they weren't, as the small rip in my tire was too close to the sidewall.
However, the whole experience reminded me of why I bought my L in the first place. From the moment my Silver L pulled into their parking lot, the entire garage was emptied. All the mechanics at the store swarmed around the truck asking numerous questions like: How fast will it go? What kinda numbers does your truck make in the 1/4? Damn, are those tires really 295/45 front and back?!
It was as if a celebrity had arrived. I felt like I had driven up in a Viper, Ferrari or Lamborghini. They put on my spare for free, and even though one mechanic could have done the job - 5 took part in the process.
I really wanted to mention this event as one member recently commented that they were a lot of people who were getting rid of their Lightnings of late. Now I'm not trying to say that they are foolish for doing this (as their reasons are all valid), but let's get a thread going on why we love our L's so much!!
BTW, I wanted to thank my buddy ST.ELMO'SFIRE who came through for me in the clutch and is ordering two new tires for me from Tirerack as he'll be able to get a wholesale price. Much appreciated!!

and it is a truck that can beat camaros etc and it is one of a kind

I love my L cause there is no better feeling than turning typical BMW owners into sniveling little boys with their tails between their legs out on the streets.
I love destroying guys who think they drive something fast - it's a win win situation. It's expected in the Viper but when you do it in a TRUCK? Oh that just chaps their asses.
If you win - DAMN! It was in a TRUCK!
If you lose - HEY - it's a truck after all...
(now, the guys who actually DO drive something fast...they're usually pretty cool...it's the typical yuppy fugs that truly believe that their little 3 series can't be beat that I love making examples of)
