Well let me start out by saying I have much respect for the Syclone and Typhoon.

So me and my buddy are in the CT chat room screwing around. So some dude comes out saying he has a Syclone. Says he has flowmasters, K&N and a BOV( ). Stock turbo and intercooler. He starts out by saying he 60FT's a 1.3!!!! So I immediately call BS of course because it is. He asks what I have so I describe my Lightning, him and his "boy" call BS on my 511RWHP. Oh well, he starts going on and on about how he will smoke my truck. So I tell him to come to Etown on the 17th for JDM day and run me. I even tell him that if he beats me I will pay for his lost day at work. But if I win he has to wash my truck(he does detailing I guess). So he goes on and on with the excuses. It was so funny. I really hope this dude grows a sac and heads down to Jersey. Do some people out there still not know what our truck are capable of>??? This dude was as ignorant as they come, him and his buddy. 1.3 60 ft. LMAO! -Mat-

 

The Sy/Ty group enjoy a lot of hype since a few in the crowd have modded them to the point they can be pretty formidible. Unfortunately, most have not, and even though they are quick, they are not that quick. The few feet they will beat out of you from the line is easily gained back a few hundred feet down the road.............keep embarrasing him, maybe he'll give in and you can kick his butt............and get your truck washed.

 

There was a syclone at memphis motorsports park a few weeks ago running 9.90's on drag radials, on street night.

 

The Sy/Ty's are not slow pokes guys, with minor mods just like L's they will run just as fast as lightnings no problem. Remember that 4 wheel drive is a Huge advantage and they weigh allot less to! There's plenty of Sy/Ty's out there running low 10's, damn turbo's are a bitch to keep up with!

I never said they weren't fast. But this guy has an airfilter and exhaust running 15PSI. He is expecting mid to high 12's. I give him low 13's. My main reason for picking on him was the 1.3 60ft comment. My whole family is into the Turbo Buicks so I know what is possible out of them. I know there are plenty out there that would hand me my azz on a silver platter, I just don't think this guy is one of them. We will see if he shows up on the 17th. I doubt he will. -Mat-

A ProStock car typically runs a 1.0, 60 foot time and runs high 6's at 200 mph
A car running 7's @ 170 mph runs a typical 1.1-1.2, 60' time
A super Comp dragster running 8.50 @ 160 mph. 60' Time : 1.16 sec.
A Camaro I know of may run 9.46 @ 146 mph with a 1.3 60' time.

So if this clown thinks his Cyclone cuts 1.3 short times, then it must be a pretty quick truck with a trans brake!

 

Never said they weren't quick, just saying that for every one of them tuned to run in the 10-11's, there there are many, many more running times a whole lot slower.

I drove a 'phoon for 10 years, lightly modded, 0-60 mph best was 4.1 seconds, fun truck, surprised most because they didn't know from Typhoon.

I belonged to the SyTy club but could not stomach the **** those guys pass out daily on their forum so I rarely went there.

This forum, on the other hand is a helpful and generally courteous bunch of enthusiasts and I come here almost daily.
