I've got some 28x10.5 Hoosiers on the way...

I'm not driving the truck in the snow this year, I bought a 93 bronco to haul the dog and use to scoot around town and in inclement weather so the truck can stay inside.

later,
chris

What is the traction difference between the 15” and the 16” slicks? Is the difference enough to justify having to go thru all that?

with 15's you get better traction due to increased sidewall and you have nearly unlimited choices when it comes to tire selection (size, brand, compound, etc) where with 16's you definately have fewer choices.

Would it be possible to get some aftermarket calipers crafted by a tuner inexpensively that would come "trimmed down" already? Maybe black anodized billet or something?

Nice pics Chris. Is there any caliper we can buy that comes smaller that will fit on our truck with 15's without any grinding? If there was, people pry wouldn't be spending all this time, making theirs fit...
thanks, Shane

WOW!!!!! Definetly alot of grinding. I'm glad that I decided against getting the 15" slicks. My buddy had a set that he was going to give me, and for the price I would have paid for the bogarts I could have bough 16" wheels and slicks. Those D10's where $700 shipped where I got a price.

With 15" rims, you can get 30" slicks. With 16", the only option is 28". I can't get hooked up with 28's. Hopefully someone will offer 30x16x11.5 soon.

99 SVT Lightning, I believe M&H racemasters make 30/14.0 & 14.5 / 16 slicks, 10.5 & 11.5 wide tread . Probably my next tire.

Chris, It's good to know that if you quit being a car mechanic you can always be a dentist.

Man I don't know about messing with the brakes. As much as companies try to cut costs, I can't imagine that all that extra material you're grinding off isn't needed. I don't know if it's for strength, or for cooling, but it's there for some purpose. Hope it works out and you stay safe.
