I am curious, what is your normal boost level, if you dropped to 20 lbs and the big question - who built your bottom end (lower)?

I am assuming this in with a KB or Works???

Charlie is away from the computer today, so I'll chime in. Charlie has seen as much as 30psi, but he runs 24psi when racing. The new Metco KB setup really drives the boost up! We both have JLP built motors. I run 20psi on the street and at the track and the motor holds up well. Charlie and I have about two years with my same built bottom end. KB blowers. Hope this helps.

Cecil is about 15 minutes from my house, so I usually race there.

99svtlightning,

that sure did help, thanks for the info. Another question - what exactly is a metco kb ( I bought my Kb in July, is there a new improved version out already)?

Thanks

I saw at Metco's booth in Bowling Green a 10rib setup. Maybe that is what he is referring to............

Sorry, I was in a hurry when I typed the post. It is the Metco idler setup for the Kenne Bell blower. It has a 100mm pulley real close to the upper for greater belt wrap. Very nice looking setup.

I don't think my belt was slipping much before and there was a lot of dust on the support. There is less dust now. I think some of that dust comes when you go WOT then let off the gas fast. I think it looks cool, and can't hurt.

Thanks easterisland,

I just got off the phone with Kenne Bell and they mentioned one of the sure ways to tell if you're getting slip is by the dust from the belt. Sounds like this metco set up is the way to go!

Just ordered one from Sue at JLP, thanks for your help!

Sorry for the hi jack!

Is that different than the "Metco" system that busses the inner city kids into rich kid schools?????

It's not all money, it's a lot of time and patience. You can build a really fast lightning for about the same budget as it would take to build any other 10 second car...probably cheaper than most newer vehicles.
