Lightbulb ported eaton

Ran for the last time this year weds.ended with a
12.81 at 105 and a 12.83 at 105.Not my best but
can't complain.
Anyway to the important part my cousin just got
a ported eaton on his 03 cobra and made 40 hp at
the wheels. So i'm getting that and a dyno tune
computer flash in a couple weeks.
my current mods are a jlp chip,5# lower,ram-air.
made 367hp and 475trq on a bad air day so
as soon as i get the new #'s i will post the actual
sheets. The guy doing the work expects the truck
to pickup over 50hp at the wheels so we will see.
02 lightning #3767 black
best time 1.75 60ft. 12.59@106.03 on qtps.
2.06 60 ft. 12.97@106.58 on the f1's

these are terrible numbers for a 5# pulley.
Heck the stock pulley with the JDM chip should put that out no problem

my 3# is putting out ove 400rwhp.

get dyno tuned!

Can somebody explain this ported eaton thing. I have heard of it before, but 50hp sounds like alot. Is this along the same lines as the ported upper intake?

The place is called stiegemeier dyno-tech in st. louis mo.
He tunes mostly mustangs and alot of testing on the 03
cobra now.I'm not sure the details on porting the eaton
but he said it should react better than the cobras because
the intake is more retrictive possibly? So i guess that they
will port the intake as well.

A ported Eaton. That sounds like a good mod, especially if it will pick you up 50 hp....

Porting the Eaton you can get more airflow.

50hp sounds like to high of number though. Maybe if the upper plenum gets spacer, is port matched the blower, gets a P&P and reshaped to help the air flow around the bend into the blower better. But even then 50hp sounds like to high of a number.

porting the EATON???

the tolerances inside the eaton casing and the rotors are exact and messing with them will result in LESS EFFICENT supercharger.

Also, you can block the sound deadening holes on the bottom of the blower for a LITTLE extra boost.

Lastly, I'm assumming he is polishing the intake. with clay with diamond dust.
it will flow much better.

there was a post a few months ago about someone who reshaped the inside of the intake and increased the flow dramatically..
Also if you ahve a Phenolic spacer you can open the mouth of the intake to match it.
Also if you have a single plane throttle body, you can open the intake to match that, (almost 1/4" difference)

as for porting the eaton supercharger itself? I'm not too sure, messing with the tolerances is messing with efficency

l-menace - when they say porting I don't think they mean the inside cast itself where the rotors spin. They may be refering to the inlet and the outlet of the blower where it still has the rough casting. You can open the input hole to match the plenum, and the outlet can be opened up some to let more air flow.

Well, when I ported mine thats what I worked on.
