Sorry for asking a stupid question, but what do you guys mean when you say "kickdown"? Like I said, sorry, but it isn't coming to me. Thanks.

Putting the petal to the floor and having the truck downshift to take off. That is a kickdown. That is when it feels the fastest but it isnt that great for the truck. I do it all the time. You only live once. I bet there is a monster box and motor in my future though the way i drive. ah well.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. But I commend you on taking it like a man. Nov 8th will most likely be my trucks final outing with the stock motor. Whether it blows or not, it will be going to a special shop down in Jersey to get a special motor put in. Best of luck on you new motor. -Mat-

So many times we have seen here, of blown motors with large pulleys, going back to stock and trying to get Ford to warranty the motor.
When mine goes, it's going back to Ford in a box.
And I'm expecting a new Motor for free

Yes drivin and smashin the gas under 30, I love it! I used to live over near Doty, bunch of scumbags. I'm a fireman in the ghetto on the southside for 18 yrs, so I'm not worried about that stuff. It happened on Archer and 47th. Yea hopefully with the built lower end she can handle the kickdowns better! Thanks, Jeff

Sorry to hear about this and kudos on the great attitude!!

If you dont mind my asking how many miles did you have on the truck and how many of those did you have your 6# in?

I have had my 6# on since 1000 miles on the truck and now have 20,000 miles. I thought I was safe since it hasnt blown yet but I am leaning towards at least yanking the motor out and throwing in some rods.
