Do they do alright as long as you have plenty of weight over the rear wheels? I have a 2WD 4.2L and it did great last winter. Just wondering because I might be getting a Lightning soon. Thanks.

Well if I get an L, I'm not going to be able to afford a dependable winter car on top of it. There's a possibility that I could drive our 89 Chevy 4wd truck. I just figure the L would do the same as my truck now did with the same weight in the back. Wouldnt definately have to take it easy on the acceleration though.

hmm think about it, my truck put out about 500rwtrq.
at an idle I'd spin.

That's why I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4wd

well miss moneybags...must be nice...

just kidding....i have a beater blazer for the snow, but i don't want to stop driving my L.....i'm sure i will have no problem when i see some 75 years old on the road next to me the first time it snows

if i were you eposey i'd spend $500 or $1000 and get a beater rather than dealing with the headache of some a$$hole hitting your or you sliding into a large oak tree!!!!

Me? Hell no I don't. I have tried to keep away from copying off a Lightning as I can. The only thing I have on there Lightning is the wheels. I would have bought them if they weren't on a Lightning. I am absolutely in love with the 99-00 L wheels. I will probably put them on the L I end up getting.

16/17" smaller crap rims, + small winter tires. 400-500$ New, bags of concrete or replacement parts overnighted from japan for a 10sec ricer of some kind in rear, over the wheels and you'll be fine.

the salt and crap will hurt the truck tho

if you care about all the power you could take off the supercharger pully and get a flipchip tuned so you cna run winter w/o supercharger power. reg mildly modded 5.4L.

other then that my L makes it "ok".

Hhhhmmmmmmmm, do that and the poor thing will be starving for air if the s/c is not spinning. Also that thing will be a dog. With the mileage these things put out now, I hate to see what it would get driving around all winter without the s/c spining.

i also get to drive a chevy this winter. its my wifes very first car. a chevette. its gonna be a crapper compared to the L (which should be on blocks by this time next week). I have been llaying down some serious abuse to the F1s cuz I know I will miss it this winter. Ofcourse now I am going to need tires when I get the L back out to drive.

back to the ...vette (lol), Manual trans ans 33k original miles. just put new tires, brake lines, wipers, and blower motor in it. All that and I still dont feel safe. At least I wont feel bad if I ditch it this winter. I would cry if I ditched the L
