I consider comparing insurance rates to asking what fuel mileage you get. Numbers are all over the board and they never make much sense.
One thing that affects insurance is how the vehicle is being used. If one person lists it as a full time use vehicle with unlimited mileage, you would expect to pay more than another that is considered an extra vehicle and is for limited use mileage. Also, areas that you live in will affect the rate you pay. And one other major factor, especially for some of the younger drivers on here, is it your policy, or are you piggy backing on your parents policy and getting a multi car discount with a limited use policy? Unless policies are comparing apples to apples (exact same coverage, with the same conditions), then the rates that are being compared aren't very realistic.
