I can't believe people get so riled up over what others say. To me there are more important things in life than worry about if somebody thinks they are better than me at something. That's what kids in high school do.
Ok maybe pisses me off is a little strong...

More like "It makes me realise how many idiots there are in the world"

Its just like the guy at work ( we all have met him ) who's brothers cousins uncle has a Volkswagon that will kick lightning ***.... I respond OK - Im going to the track tomorrow lest meet there.. Well uhhhh its in the shop .. blah blah blah

Seriously - I am considering buying one - It is a great concept - would be a real kick to drive and would likley be exciting enough to justify the 600 a month payment ..... I already registered a couple SRT10 domain names..

I've heard nothing concrete and the general concensus is 800 lbs. payload and half the towing capacity of the regular 1500. Which would put it about 4k lbs. I personally don't want the first year of any vehicle. The first rear of the new hemi has many problems with everything being controlled by the cpu and this electronic throttle is giving hemi owners fits.

Like I said Doug....Dodge just b!tch slapped the L out of our Lightning.....

Poke-Poke.....Jab-Jab......I really do love this stuff.....

You know why I'm not going to the track tomorrow. This is the Dodge Rules thread though, so I won't get off topic.

You are right about one thing though. It will be hard to find one of these at the track in the beginning.

For right now, stock to stock...the facts are. Dodge Viper Truck just upped the anti on H.P./Torque.

It is a good thing Doug. I own more Fords right now than I care to admit. I do love competition, where ever it comes from.

Rocks

Ford painted the big picture. There was no competition out there and still they set the bar at the highest level possible, the fastest production truck ever built on the entire planet. After 5 years someone may catch up with a higher priced, harder to mod gas guzzler. Ford already has a faster more powerful one in concept.

BTW, thnx Ford, keep'em comin'.

Actual capacities for the srt-10

O.k., I was actually able to get the real numbers for the srt-10 for towing and payload. Payload is 1720lbs. and maximum towing capacity is 8650 lbs. with a gvwr of 6350.

Holy trashed trannys, Batman! I don't think the Tremec is going to last very long at all moving 13,000 - 14,000 lbs. They must have done some MAJOR upgrades.

Also, for those hp/tq ****** who like big numbers; the L has bigger horses, judging by the performance numbers quoted so far.

What kind of an idiot would run and plunk his hard-earned money down for the first production year of a new vehicle?

What makes me an idiot for just being a cautious buyer? I'm not bashing those who do; just making an educated decision that historically, first year vehicles have more bugs that need to be worked out.
