Nope, I waited till I wore out the stock tires and rims, then ordered chrome rims and custom radial tires.

Worked out fine, since I was working on the body for a while, just keep playing with the R/C w/o the body.

my wife just picked me up that HUGE new bright 1/6 scale (i think its 1/6) Lightning. Its freakin kewl I dont have any plans to play with it though. I do plan on taking off that gay **** roll bar and removing the front crash bumper. I will also make a cover of some sort for the bed and remove the big door stickers and replace them with the stock badges (vinyl). I have thought about getting a 1/10 scale Lightning though.

Chris
ps, does it haul but?

Mine's faster

The body looks awesome! I have all ford bodies for my R/C cars too. This one has a saleen S7 body and a Ford Mondeo Body for racing (only 4 door bodies are allowed for competition)

My Associated RC10GT FT has the f150 body.

My mugen buggy has a matching paint scheme and ford stickers

The car is about a year and a half old.

I tear it down and rebuild it completely after every race weekend, clean and reoil the bearings, etc...

now if there was 132 feet , a tree, and some lights and stuff, you could do 1/10 quater mile drags. hehehehe. that actually sounds kinda fun.

I raced 1/10th scale electric cars for roughly 11 years and I kept mine clean using an air compressor after the race. Keeping bearings clean is a must!

Electric is one thing, but Nitro, damn now that's messy.

i second the nitro mess. I have a t-maxx (very well modded) and I tore that down pretty much after every day. Granted for a while I was running it everyday and burning about 6-8 tanks a fuel a day. but that thing was a HUGE mess. I went though a lot of acetone and denatured alcohol cleaning that beast up.

I would image on road would be a bit better, but on road would have foam and dust, so it might be the same, heck, maybe worse.

I have raced both on road and off road.

The onroad mess is far worse. The foam combined with the oil from the exhaust forms a horrible sludge.
