Raced a WRX and lost

Well on my to work last night a car qucikly pulls up to me at a light. It was a WRX Sport wagon (not the STi) with like 227 hp stock.

I thought no big deal should be able to easily take it. But my stupid a$$ lauched to hard and had to get out of it, and by that time he had a 1/2 car length. I couldn't reel him in by the time we hit the speed limit so he won. I tryed for 4 miles to catch another light with him , but it didn't work out. We did do a few more rolling starts, and I would just barely pull from him. Those cars are prety impresive for 227 HP.

By the way my truck has no chip or pulley, but I still feel bad for embarassing the Lightning community. I promise I will do better next time.

Mike

Edit: Just ordered the predator

Just cause it was a wagon dosent mean it wasnt modded. Matter of fact the modded wagons are ultimate sleepers. You should have been able to pull it from the rolls if it was stock, since you couldnt. I doubt that it was stock.

maybe that's a wake up call for some nice holiday shopping ---chip, pulley, CAI...then you'll have no problem.....plus not too many people who drive wagons are looking for a race - unless they're hiding something (sleepers)

all the WRXs can be real damn peppy with some minor bolt ons. They dont have any ***** down low, so roasting the tires off the line isnt an issue like with our trucks... Stock vs. Stock you would win as long as you hooked up well off the line.... otherwise a few bolt ons on the WRX combined with a bad launch from you can seal the deal in the WRX's favor

Mabe we should take him out for a few beers...then take him out
on the parking lot...ruff him up gently (after all he is one of us)...
take his L keys away for 1 night...force him to watch "oprah" for 1 week...paint (in easily washable pink) on his truck "I'm a Wuss"...
just kidding Sharpshooter...

Thats too harsh. Thats almost worse than the punishment my wife gives me after I **** her off, if you know what I mean.

I'm gonna punish my self. I will do 10 sets of 5 reps of 60' times on a back road. Followed by 2 laps down the srip trying to find that punk WRX driver

I raced an STi at the 1/4 track, he kicked the **** out of me off the line, i have bad 0-60 ft's, but as it came towards the end i was pulling on him totally, and would have passed him, i was like 1/4 car lenght behind his front end.
