It's only $10 for PS2, cheap enough to grab two copies

ford racing 2
just went and picked it up for 10 bucks. Didn't even have it on display, they went and got it out back. You have to gain 11 cars before you can have the L. I can't win anything. I've unlocked three thus far. I can't be beat on the stock car track, other than that forget it.
I think it's a riot with the focus on the time trial track when you drive by the cruise terminal in miami and you can see the carnival boats!!!!!!

I would never play these games if I had to actual beat them, its dumb to me to have to beat the game 10 times just to be able to drive all the cars... by that time I wouldnt want to play anymore.
I rented Project Gothem 2 last night, the L is alright I guess... there is no blower whine on that one either, so whoever said that is wrong. The Gothem game gives you the sonic blue color, and its a '02 model rather than a 99-00. (like in the ford game)
The steering is better in the ford game, as is the actual truck IMO.
The only thing I like about the Gothem game is that you can race online. The tracks are too tight and short, too many sharp turns without the space to do it. There are a TON of cars though, the Enzo is badazz. Overall the Ford game wins it in my book, especially for 10-20 bux vs. 50-60 for PGR2

I tried that, some of the other cars that pass you sound "whiney"...but I didn’t hear anything corresponding to the throttle, all I could hear was a regular engine and tire squeal.
I will listen close again when I get home, but I rented the thing just for the truck, and becuase I thought it would have the whine...so I did listen hard last night also... didnt hear it at all.
Anyone use the "look behind" button with the L? The seats are just like ours, and the driver looks very real too.

I heard the whine when I went to the garage and test drove the L. That way you're the only car out there on the test track. I think the other turbo/sced cars had whine as well. I'll have to play the game again and double check.
I also have the radio turned down/off in most racing games... I like to hear the vehicles, not the repetitive music.
What's really funny is when you throw it in reverse on the test track... all the cars make this high pitched whiney noise.

I walked through the museum, but didnt drive anything...I couldnt find the Ford section. Ill have to try that out, if it does do it then it's probably the road noise/other cars that keep me from hearing it.
If they wanted it to be realistic they should have made it loud as hell. In reality I cant even hear the other cars I race for the most part.
