what kind of oil is put in the kenne bell?

I didn't install it, so I don't know for sure. Is it redline? what exactly is it labeled as....

my level is just a tiny bit below where it should be. I am trying to chase down a noise and want to eliminate ALL variables. The oil is extremely clean so I don't think the noise is the s/c from internal wear since I would expect the oil to be burned looking.

Is there a level for cold and hot or just fill it to the little notch when cold?

thanks!

any straight 50 weight synthetic oil will work

I just fill it to the full mark on the dip stick

I use royal Purple 50 weight synthetic

If the noise is coming from the KB it is probably the bearings in the nose.

NO, NO, NO

Uses Eaton supercharger fluid,
special stuff with weird stuff in it

Contains
Fatty Acids C5-10
Esters with dipentaerythritol-phosphoric acid
(1,1-dimethylethy)phenyldiphenylester

what ever all that means

the KB site mentions redline oil. Another site mentions 5w50 as the weight for whipple/kennebell... can I assume that 5w50 synthetic redline is what the K/B ships with?

kennebell sent me a oil the recomend, n i never used any other types, this is on my cobra i doubt the lightning is any different, i do know that if u hear a noise comin from the blower u might have over filled the blower, and it could cause damage to the blower, i hate to admit it but i did it on my old 1.5 blower, thats y i upgraded to the 1.8, i over filled it , n i hurt one of the bearings in the front of the blower.

the manual states to replace the oil every 12K miles. It appears to be 50w synthetic redline racing oil from what I can gather. On monday, I'll get with kenne bell and make sure and then order some.

I am a tiny bit low and instead of adding some, I'd like to do a full change and make sure it is where it is supposed to be.

I have an engine compartment noise. I don't think it is the blower and I'm still trying to hunt the noise down...
