Still getting the SES light,,, help

I recently got a new exhaust for my 2002 Lightning. I decided to buy all the parts to make my own kit. I bought two Borla XR-1 Sportmans Race Mufflers and a X pipe. I went to my local muffler shop and got a new 2 1/2 dual exhaust with no cats. Its sounds extremely aggresive and very loud. Love them new chrome tips.

I knew I was going need O2 similators to trick the computer that I had working Cats......so I got them as well and install them the same day I got my exhaust, I got SES light the same day. I blamed the similators so I got new pair from a different company and the same thing happened after I drove my truck for a while.

What do you guys think is my problem?

I know MUSTANGS have 4 oxygen sensors but I am not sure how many our trucks have. But if there are four down there, make sure that the simulators are on the REAR sensors.

I have gone to AutoZone and 4 codes show up but all are related to O2 senors I think. I will go today again to AutoZone and document which codes I am getting on my truck.

Does my chip have to programmed for a no-cat system?

With the new O2 similators that I got I am only getting one code that is causing SES light to come up. T

The code is PO 136.....O2 sensor Bank 1 sensor........

How do I fix this?

which sensor on bank 1? there are 2 sensors on each bank thus 4 sensors. more info is needed

FWIW a 136 is a o2 sensor malfunction. so either the mil is not working or the one that is functional failed.

thst would be the farthest o2 on the pass side. If thats the one you put a mil on you have a faulty mil

um, try putting your cats back on...

PO136:
HO2S Sensor Circuit Malfunction (HO2S-12) Detailed Description
The downstream HO2S sensor(s) are continuously checked for maximum and minimum voltages. The test fails when the voltages fail to meet the calibrated limits.

Possible Causes
Pinched, shorted, and corroded wiring and pins.
Crossed sensor wires.
Exhaust leaks.
Contaminated or damaged sensor

HO2S-12 stands for Heated Oxygen Sensor bank 1 sensor #2.

in english, this means the passenger side catalyst monitor or downstream hego on the right hand side of the vehicle is doing it's job, it knows your cats aren't there and your "MIL eliminators" are crap.

good luck.

later,
chris
