Hes got the same as me, JLP ram air
It takes air in from "3" differant locations
The open top on idle and crawling
The original fender inlet once moving
and Last BUT NOT LEAST
It takes fresh "COOL AIR" from the front lower grill,
(extremly helpful lowering air inlet temp at high speeds)

Big Man,
The two best Air Ind Systems on the market are Sals + Johnnys,
both use that type inlet.
Sal / PSP has this one
http://www.powersurgeperformance.net/FASTair.htm
I have mine piped differant with 3" stainless steel,
I found the box to be extremly easy to install,
and cutting a little plastic in the wheel well,
is a two second job.
Yes rain, sand, leaves, gravel, and even farm animals
do get in the inlet, but it's never created a problem.
Thousands and thousands of us use them.
Ya you need to clean it a few times a year.
Example, I cleaned mine a few weeks ago
It's no biggy at all, you simply bang the filter against your stoop,
and your good to go another 1/2 a year, hehehehehehe
