From an article in today's Automotive News:
"Ford still finds funds to aid those in need.
"Despite its financial troubles, Ford Motor Co. kept donating to
good causes last year. Ford was the lone auto company to rank
among the top 10 cash donors in 2002, according to a list of U.S.
corporate donations compiled by Forbes magazine."
Nice to know that, despite all its faults (and in addition to the fact that it makes the best - and fastest - pickup truck on the planet), Ford still manages to do a lot of good in the big world outside of the automotive industry.

The "Ford Foundation" has been in existance for many, many years, with virtually no publicity, has given multi-millions over the years, to various charitable organizations and projects. Also, every Ford Plant and Facility I know of, has it'd own local "pet charity" that it has chosen to contribute to and often to some extent, the employees particpate in. Ford employees have always contributed generously to local charities in particular, and also to the United Fund.
