hah, actually the pic of your truck is what inspires me to go even lower on the drop... I love how your L looks. Your truck is one of the nicest looking Lightnings I've seen. It's lowered, it's Red, its got chrome 20's...
real nice truck man.
One question on the drop... The bottom two trucks both have a drop. The first one has jlp's 4 in shackles, and the 2nd one has a 3/4ths drop. Why does the 2nd one fill the wheel wells better than the first? That is all I want to do is fill the wheel wells better.

Thanks, Shane

I'm not an expert.......

But, the 20's are just a bit taller..... Also, The whole idea that the rim is larger might play tricks on the eyes.

I have some pics of the stock 18's right after I did the drop kit, I will post them tomorrow, don't have them here.

Thanks for your comments... Allot of hard work and money can get you a nice looking anything, I pride myself on doing things on my own and it is nice to here positive feedback.

Just wait till you see it in spring........More money, whoops, I mean mods to come.....

I look forward to seeing your truck with stock rims after the drop. The last pic above (the white 2000) has stock 18's on it and the wheel wells look really nice. Thats what I want to make sure my truck will look like after I do the 4" rear drop, and the springs in the front. Thanks, Shane

What about pinion angle with the 4" shackles? Since it raises the rear spring eye wouldnt it put the pinion pointed more down?

NO DON"T DO IT. I have my truck slamed to the ground wiith a 2/4 drop. I can tell you that you feel every little bump through the rear end. The shocks end up with no enough travle in them and they bottom out every time. I also am hitting the bump stops also and there were cut down too.

I am probally going to raise the truck back up to a 2 inch drop but first I am going to take the bump stop off and cut it down some more. I bought the truck this way. It looks real good but the ride does suck.If I get time to take some pics form under the truck I will.

Someone sells shock extenders for the rear to increase the travel. KBZILLA has them not shure where he got them, how much or how much they help or how hard they are to put on maybee he'll chime in here.

Email sent steve. I dont want the ride to be really stiff, and I dont want to feel every little bump. I love how it rides right now. I just wanted to fill the wheel wells some. Would I need to get better shocks to go with the 4" drop shackles?
thanks, Shane

I have ground force lowering kit, with the ground force shocks that came with it. I can't find anything smaller then those. Those are the smallest shock they make. I have also been look for the extenders also with no luck

The subject has come up: Will the stock shocks handle the 4" drop shackles in the back?
thanks, Shane

Thats because the 99/00's seem to be a bit lower than the newer years. I've seen my same drop kit on a 02' and it looks like mine when it was stock. I don't know if its the suspension or maybe the shocks are so old it sits lower? Anyway here is mine with what they say is a 1"/2" drop.....
