Interested in JLP's 4" drop shackles

Is there anything wrong with swapping out my 2" shackles for JLP 4" ones ? I then would have to drop the front a good 2-3 inches. But will this effect the drivability of the truck in any way?
I read in a few previous posts the 4" drop will get me about 2-2.5 inches. Why do they call it a 4" drop shackle then?
What will I need to level the front out? I'd like to drop the front about 2 inches.

I'm happy with how the truck looks now, if anything I think the front sits up about an inch. But what I am concerned about doing is filling the wheel well a little better. Should the 4" shackles in the back and a 2 inch drop in the front help me some?
(Below is a pic of Joe's truck and he has the 2/3rds drop. That is kind of what I'd like mine to look like, just with 18's)

Can I get some more info on the 4" shackles on the back, and what do I have to do to drop the front a few inches?
Thanks, Shane

I found some pics....
The first one is a belltech 3/4 kit with 20's

The 2nd one is similar, 3/4 Western Chasis Drop with 18's I believe.

The third one is a BellTech 3/4 with stock 18's

hope they help some, Shane

I really like how the trucks look with a 3/4" drop in the back and 20's. The truck isnt too low, the wheel well is filed perfectly.

Shaen....Good pictures, thank you sir!! I am for sure now getting the JLP ones. And 20" replicas are now bumped up on my list to Priority #1....

I like the look of the 3/4. I am running DJM 3" front coils nad Belltech 2" rears, hopefully the JLP 4" will get the a** a little lower.....Thanks again buddy!

No problem for the pics. What is your favorite of the 5? The 3rd white one in the first set with just the drop and on 18's isnt bad at all. If we had the option of drop and 20's I like them all...
In a way I am interested in 20's but I dont know if I really want them. Ive never been a huge fan of 20's. They look real nice, and they may fill up the wheel well a little better after the drop. But you will lose a little gearing, and they are heavier than stock 18's for sure... We'll see.
As for the front drop, what are my options after I get JLP's 4# rear shackles? Belltech 2" drop springs for the front would level the truck out right? I dont want it to look slammed, just like the above pics... Two questions, how much are the belltech drop springs, and how hard is install?
thanks, Shane

I dont know about how the Belltech ones would level it out. They gave me about 2" inches with the 3" drop Springs. Front spring install is not too bad. Obviously rear shackles are much easier.

My favorite by far is the Red L with Chrome 20's....Number 1. His truck looks super clean.

Belltech 3" drop springs cost me around $119 at www.stylinconcepts.com Hope that info helps.

Thanks for the site. Why do they call them 3" drop springs, when they only give you 2 inches? Same with rear shackles. The 4" shackles arent giving you 4 inches. Are they different for every truck or what? I have JDM's 2" shackles on mine. I never measured the truck before and after, but I know it did level the truck out. All im looking to do is go down another (actual) inch or so in the back and then 1.5-2 inches in the front. By doing that will I fill the wheel wells in any if I keep my stock 18's?
thanks, Shane

Dropped

I really like the dropped look, BUT, with a 4" drop you won't be able to run over a beer can without ripping something off the sides, much less the Air Dam. Great for Show but Bad if you drive the truck over 12 miles a year.

From my understanding Shane, The L's and HD's come 1" lower stock than regular 2WD f-150's...So a 3" drop spring will yield you 2"....get it???

Your guess is as good as mine on the rear ones? I m hoping to level mine out as well...How about we both buy JLP's and post pics to compare??!!!
