Dodge Hemi beats Ford F150

I just saw a commercial on TV where a F150 and a Dodge Ram with a hemi were both pulling boat trailers or something and the Dodge wins.

What is it all about? I don't think the F150 was a lightning. If it was, would it have beat the Dodge pulling a boat trailer?

I've seen that commercial a few times. It's a 2004 F150 vs. a 2004 Dodge Hemi, recreating the Ford commercial where the F150's pulling a late 60's Mustang and pulls away from the Dodge pulling the 60's Charger. But only this time, out of 280 pulls, the Dodge wins every time. "Supposedly" it was an independant test, but those are easy to adjust the outcome. Who knows where the overall finish line was, there could've been a large difference in trailer weight, etc. You get the picture.

THere is a Ford version pulling Horsetrailers down a Dragstrip with F350 vs Dodge 3500 Diesels. The Ford Whips the Dodge

They probably took a base F150 4.6 and put it against the Hemi...

Lets see the Lightning vs the Hemi towing... They would have to do split screen to keep up

If cab configuration is the same, then the

hemi 340-345 hp(?) should beat the 300hp new 150?

hp doesn't mean much anymore, when the engines are close. the pcm's decide how much hp and where in the rpm range you are going to get it. probably more for tranny life and emissions than power. the hemi's aren't real impressive on a rear wheel dyno either, losing 80plus hp

LOL - yeah. I've never seen so much driver "non-control" before. My Sequoia does everything but drive itself - throttle by wire, electronic shifts, etc, etc. Toyota has everything cut, too. You can't floor it, anymore - you only get 3/4 throttle no matter what for the first few seconds. Plus, from what I've read, there's a cylinder dump between shifts, too. I am no longer a "driver," I am a "steerer."

It's so bad, that some of the Tundra guys are supercharging (TRD supercharger) their Tundras and are running 14.7s AFTER the install! All that for the bargain price of $3500! They have a "piggyback" computer that comes with the s/c to cut even more power so Toyota can warranty the setup.

Try, try, try as they may, they just can't keep up.
