Denso IT 22. OK for stock motor???

I only have a cold air kit and I just bought a set of plugs and I was wondering if its OK if I use them on my engine? Also they are already gaped at .038 should I change that?

Thanks!

TIP TEMPERATURE

Why is Heat Range Critical?

It is the measure of how fast the spark plug tip dissipates
combustion heat. It must do this in a controlled manner
that will:

1. Stay cool enough to avoid pre-ignition and/or electrode
destruction.

2. Run hot enough to burn off combustion deposits that
would otherwise collect at the firing tip.

3. Adapt to specific engine characteristics and widely
varying driving/load conditions.

I think they will be too cold and cause combustion deposits to collect and cause rough idle and misfires with stock engine.

always check the gap on your plugs....even if the person (or shop) you bought them from says they're already gapped....the gapping tool is like $0.49 at autozone.....

you can't use a cheap-o gapping tool with denso's.

only a go/no-go will work, unless you want to chance breaking them

you can't gap with the tool, but you can use it to check to see the gap is fine correct? Or do you have to use a differet tool altogether?

actually im almost 100% sure its fine to check te gap with the cheapo tool, just make sure not to sratch the plug tips at all. It would be best to use the other gap checker that is just a bunch of metal flaps, that would probably work best. Both are pretty cheap and the metal flap type has many more uses.
