What slicks do you run?

What size slick does everybody run, and whats a good cheap wheel. And post drag setups if you'd like. IM sure this is a dead horse but its always nice to see new setups. I have a 2001L 4lb, ftvb, chip, jlp air, mac catback, roush suspension-and before the season starts i will have my blower ported. Hopin for sum mid 12's this year at the least. By summer i plan for longtubes and low 12's hopefully. Just a lil info incase any of those mods would change my recomended tire size. thanks!

Yes Blown is running the "BIG BOYS" set up

You'll find most of us slow 11 and 12 second L's run 28x10x16
I use Hoosiers Full Racing Slicks C07 compound, on American Racing 16x8 Rims (your better off w/ a 10" rim of course)
But actually lots run 8" rims, you can get these for @ 100.00 ea

But there's nicer 10" chrome ones for @ 140.00 ea that I wish I had

My Racing Set Up

I run et streets. 26X11.5X16 and I like them alot. I have a 2000 with the 3:55 rear end, so when I put the slicks on with the smaller tire, I'm up to around a 3:73. It should work out perfectly with my set up. I have them on a spare tire rim. I am hoping for a high 1.7 60 foot out of them in the spring. So far all I've gotten with them is a 1.8.

I just ordered 28X10-16 Hoosier Drag Slicks. I'm looking at the AR Bajas but what size would I be better off with? 16X10 or 16X8?

Thanks!

im pretty new to the whole lightning thing and racing thing... i took my truck out to 1/8 track on Sunday for first time ever so I didnt have ANY previous expierence or really know what I was doing... i ran a 8.6 which I guess is ok for first time... but i did have a BLAST... i for sure want to do it more often

so if in fact i do go... i will need some slicks... iv never even looked into them before.. so i know nothing....

what is a CHEAP way out??? i saw a post about those 8" black rims for only $100... thats not bad... now what tires should I get with them??

also, how long does a set of slicks usually last? i mean, i guess its hard to say... but on average of 1 decent burnout per run... how many runs u think a set will last

Make sure whatever slick you get will conform to the rules of the track events. I think FFW require less than 10.5" slicks for the trucks and my local track doesn't even allow slicks on street nights. I use 28x11.5x16 hoosier dot's.
