Ok, I just took a friend for a ride. Drove about 1.5 miles, then got on it from about a 15mph roll. It downshifted, when it went to 2nd...It went CLUNK***stalled and VIBRATED all at the same time... I let off immediately, resumed speed, and when i was slowing down tranny started making noise. put it in neutral and it stopped. then got on it again about 50mph, everything was fine. coming back into neigborhood, driving slow tranny continously making a rotating squeaking noise.. it didn't want to shift into 2nd either climbing a hill. it just rev'd up then caught. put it in park, or sit still in any gear= no noise?

 

Get her home.
Drop the pan.
Keep the crying towel handy.

My cluches are gone and i am going to buy new high performance cluches and a hydrosystem and a high stall converter from level 10 thats about $2000

I sure can't go that route...my full exhaust will be in this week...that money is already spent. A good friend has a tranny shop, maybe i can get a cheaper fix.

Just Kidding, 12leavu this is about the only thing Im concerned with on my truck. I can fix anything but transmissions, if my trans ever takes a dump it going to hit the pocket book. Do you have a chip ? I know my reflashed computer has the downshifts disabled, Ive heard those are the killers on our transmissions.

 

It,s better to upgrade your transmission

A lot of lightnings had tranny problems because of the torque
Try level 10 or Factory tech rebuilt kits
You will be happy with the tranny upgrade

 

I wish i could.. anyway i'm running a predator, i haven't messed with the tranny settings. They were done when it was tuned...It was a nasty downshift though...its about 50 degrees here, "optimum power" weather.
I drove it again just now and its taking a little longer to shift to 2nd. and its whineing (squealing)

 

I know thats a good idea, I just hate spending money on anything that doesn't make it go faster. I know, you gotta pay to play.
