A guy at a custom truck shop told me the other day that If I put a 4# lower on it, it wouldn't help unless I put a bigger blow-off valve on it.

A guy at my work told me I should put one of those "K&L Air funnels on it".

The same guy was explaining to me how his friend has a extended cab Lightning, how my Lightning should have 500 HP, and also that his stock supercrew has a Lightning front end

What goes through these people's heads?

 

I was asked why I didn't get the 4x4 Lightning with the crewcab. I said they were sold out of them , and I didn't want to wait a year.

 

I had a L salesman tell me "everything works off one belt".
I had one tell me that they are making them all this year.
I had a neighbor tell me that he thought Lightning was spelled Lightening.

 

Yeah, I should really get a real one already.

 

my salesman told me that the famous steering clunk was actually my rear differential clunking!

 

I drive my L in the winter so I have a set of stock F150 16" rims with winters on em.

I pull up to a light and hear the guy next to me honking. I look over and 2 guys in an Impreza are wanting to talk to me. I lower my window and the passenger starts saying " Do you really think you are fooling anyone? Thats not a real Lighting. He went on to say something about me just putting on Lightning badges and that only a few Lightings are brought into Canada each year. He then told me to atleast buy some nice rims to fool more poeple.

I could have told him they are made in Canada or even let him hear the blower.. but someone that dumb would not get it anyway.

 

A guy at my work told me that "those S/C 351 in the newer L's are sweet as hell!

 

Hi Leann, I guess my 93 lightning was a fraud. and I should sue someone.

 

I get the 4x4 one a ton living up here in AK. Everyone asks, "Why didn't you get it with 4wd?". Or they say, "Why dont you drive it during the winter?". When I tell them its 2wd they look at me like i'm dumb.
I get questioned on what SVT means a lot also. Some people think it stands for soviet...

I've gotten others, just not coming to mind right now.

People are funny.

 

Oh ya.. I also forgot about the moron asking me if I do any off-roading in my truck

 

this one guy keeps telling me that the gen 1 handle better than the gen 2's....

I get the 4.6L Turbo a few times a year.
or
the 4.6L supercharged.

 

I had the guy tell me mine wasn't a real Lightning because the real thing has side exhaust out the passenger and driver side. I guess someone has seen a few too many Matchbox Lightnings.

 

Yeah, gen 1s are a disgrace.
