well last season i thought my truck was running good i pulled a best of 12.54 at 108. 12.9 on street tires 2.0 60 foots. i got my truck dyno tuned in january i put down 400hp 516tq after tuning from my first pull that put down 384hp 497tq. so i picked up a couple horses and tq. so i go to englishtown wed. night to see if i could beat my 12.5 since i got my new tune. a couple 1.80 foots and im stuck in the 12.80s at just barely 106. i try again friday night on street tires and i pull a 12.9 couple 13.00s but still at 106.im just wondering if anyone knows why my mph is lower after i picked up hp?? and my even on slicks im only in the 12.80s?? im starting to get very frustrated with my truck. should i maybe send the chip back for a retune or i was thinking of just trying one more night on slicks to see if it was maybe just track conditions any opinions??

reminds me of a story of a certain tuner that said that Lightning owners are only concerned with horsepower/torque, even though more horsepower/torque doesn't necessarily mean faster times.

there are a ton of reasons why you could be slower.
weather,
traction
different shift points
your engine is making more peak power but less power under the curve
you gained weight
you had a head wind
transmission/convertor slipping.

even thought Mustang dyno's generally give a lower overall number, they can tune your truck making a simulated 1/4 mile run or maybe it is only a 1/8 mile run. whatever...

Heck JDM has a truck with a 2# lower running 12.00

If your mph seems low I would check the plugs ...

You may have SARS (Something Ain't Right Somewhere!)

im running 18lbs just as i did when i went 12.5 and i was told by jl not to launch the truck on slicks higher than 1100 on the stock converter . true?? and should i just be safe and buy anew set of plugs??? ive had these in for about 10k miles with numerous track runs. how often should they be changed???? thanks
