Mobil 1 concerns

Mobil 1 concerns
I recently heard from someone that Mobil 1 has now started to reduce the amount of teflon in their oil and that this may be a problem for our engines seeing as how the reduced amount prevents the oil from staying on the moving engine parts after the engine is shut off. My knowledge of engine lubrication isn't incedibly comprehense, so if anybody has any information or insight on this feel free to chime in...

Up until last year, I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska where the temperatures could reach as cold as -50 degrees below zero. I have only run Mobil 1 synthetic in my L, and I have seen how it reacts at these type of temperatures. In comparison to a non-synthetic blend, Mobil 1 is amazing. At those kind of temps, regular oil will sludge up and turn so hard that you can turn the oil bottle upside down and shake and it would not come out. Mobil 1 will get a little thicker, but you can beleive me that Mobil 1 is what I want in my engine. I will never use anything else unless something better comes out and I am convinced to change.

Any oil, dino or synth, Teflon or not, will protect your engine just fine if changed every 3,000 miles.
I have never seen a single report of oil-related engine failure on these boards.
Devote those brain cells to something meaningful. Oil is boring.
