So, did Ford ask this guy to install a Predator blow your engine up flash tuner in his truck? Why should I pay for a new engine for this guy who obviously used a not so great product to tune his truck?

Do a search and you will find that more people have blown engines in Lightnings with Diablo chips than any other brand.

I have tried to cheat Ford on warranty when a Diablo chip blew up my engine. Even though I figured they owed me for a drive line vibration, cracking fog lights, runs in the paint, etc. I say the guy should let Diablo pay for the repairs. It sounds as if they are the responsible party.

Better yet, engines have been known to blow up, you shouldn't buy engines.

 

Well, let's say tuner/vendor A has 5 blown engines and tuner/vendor B has 30 blown engines. What tuner/vendor do you buy from? Let's face it some people are better at tuning stuff than others.

 

Seems to me more likely this would happen during testing than any other time. That is kind of the point. This thread is stupid.

 

oh no doubt, but of course there's a lot of ifs and buts in that situation. Say vendor A typically only goes for 500 hp engines while vendor B is pushing for 800 hp engines. Or Vendor A tunes mostly their own built engine and tuner B tunes stock engine primarily. There's a lot of variables there, but in any case, the simple fact that a diablo blew up an engine is stupid. Yes it gives you that option, doesnt mean you have to do it, and particularily without details its just product bashing.

If the situation was something like, diablo was plugged into a stock engine and it blew up on the first WOT run without any major modifications, or its doing something to the engine that the tuner doesnt tell it to, or the product is simply not functioning properly, then yes its justified, but to just say, a tune blew up an engine, thats a bad tuning tool, pffft, thats a load. I bought a 10 mm wrench and jammed it in my intake, thats one bad ****ing wrench.

 

Maybe if the "South Florida rumor mill" would spend half the time they do worring about everyone elses trucks on their own, then they might be able to talk about their OWN vehicles a little more. -Mat-
