I'm Back (AND YES TEAM LOONY HAD THE BETTER ET BOTH TIMES) :o)

Bad Day / Good Day

Bad Day because EVERYONE was off their game BIG TIME
We are not making excuses either
Put it this way, I THOUGHT IT WAS SPRING NATIONALS
NOT SUMMER

To give you a idea this is the CURRENT TEMP NOW @ Cecil

Rising Sun, MD

Updated 17:51 ET Saturday, April 17, 2004

CURRENT TEMP
72°
Fair FEELS LIKE: 71° UV INDEX: 0 Minimal
HUMIDITY: 44% WIND (mph): S 5
VISIBILITY: 10.00 mi BAROMETER: 30.16 in

We left at 4, and while I was crusing the Parkway the outside temp was STILL READING 83 degrees, IT WAS HOTTER THAN SCHITT, like frigging summer

All I can say is I saw Gators Dyno's and basically what happen today is (2) 500/600 Lightning's couldn't get out of the 12's
The Heat, + Sun was killing us, everyone was off their numbers big time. I was very disappointed, but after seeign Gator make 5 passes and not run one 11, at least I knew it wasn't me,
Ray was off, everyone was off

At Gator's house this morning my Nitrous tank was only at 600 psi, in the parking lot at cecil WITHOUT A HEATER it went the highest I have ever seen it @ 1000 PSI

It was a great day
Great People
Great Fun
and a long 500 mile round trip , so now I must pig out,
be back in a bit

Here's the slips the two times Me + Gator Lined up
YES I HAD THE BETTER ET BOTH TIMES
but my Pal burned me at the light both times and officially won
both races. One is def on Vid and we'll see it soon

I am # 127

Ah who needs reaction times anyhow...You guys were definately close ET wise. Sorry you guys didn't get any personal bests. I was actually hoping for some mid 11's from at least one of you guys But looks like you had a good time and you both got to drive home so all in all a good day. Congrats

Glad you made it back home in one piece Rob.
But WTF happened to you? I waited at the foot of the Delaware Bridge for 10 minutes and then drove 50mph waiting for you to catch up. Had that little silver Mercedes in my sights again, but lost him waiting for you.........

So, hows the shine on my tailgate?

Judging by the timeslips, no one was looking at either one's tailgate!

Thanks guys,

Ya there were alot of dissapointed people, but hey as said
we got to drive it home.
And what beats a day at the races with Great People, and Beautiful Lightning's and Cobra's.....
WAY TOO MANY TO REMEMBER, so everyone and THANKS
for all the help

BTW
There were unbelievable Mustangs there, I'm talking 9's 8's, and I think I saw even better than that. JJ was on his game very much today, running as low as 11.0's, We got to talk alot, and he answered lots of Questions I had, THANKS JJ...

You know I just realized something, the slips are showing temps,
If it was 65 and 68 degrees when we made those runs,
I'm Donald ****** Trump, WTF
whats up with that ???

Also they warned everyone that if you ran an 11, you got one warning and then tossed out, but people got by including a 10 sec Lightnign pass without a cage.

The weird part about the hot sun and temps were it seemed no matter what you did, it didn't help. Gator was switching Chips, and adjusting shocks between runs, I was adjusting air temps and even grew a set of ***** and ran the second pass with 6lbs of pulley, 75 HP of juice AND FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER,
my hi timing 18 degree program
It just goes to show you, I STILL NEED MORE TIMING

Gator ran identical times on his basic street program, and then again on his all out racing program. We tried everything, I took the seats out, spare, etc... it was just to dam hot and sunny.

Also you'll notice the first pass is my all time worse 60ft ever on slicks, Gators was terrible too.
I had a kick *** 60ft the 2nd pass, but still didn't break into the 11's. There was prob a GOOD 1/2 sec both Me + Gator left on the table today. Man on a hot sunny day like today it is just impossible to get a good ET in, very dissapointing like I said,
especially since both of us had new Mods and expected our best time ever???

On the second pass I had like no brakes at the end of the track,
Gator had his window down by then and I was screaming that I had both feet on the brake and couldn't stop. Ask him I came too close for comfort to that wall and had doubts if I could slow it enough for the turn. I REALLY GOT TO FIGURE THIS ONE OUT SOON, the ride home was interesting with them
[b]ESPECIALLY CAUSE GATOR AND RAY TURNED OFF AT THE LAST SECOND on a fork and I was stuck behind an ambulance and missed it and ended up in Frigging Philly (&!@$#(!@#$!#)!(##!(#$!#(#!$(#$!$#$#!(&$#!$#

And oh ya BTW
I ran 75HP of Nitrous, 4+2 lbs of pulley, AND my 18 degree program, all on pump gas DO YOU THINK I'M RICH ENOUGH, hehehehehe
Don't ask, I was just too lazy to find the race fuel guy,
Gator had his own, but didn't think about ME his buddy...

Chim, I'll see about tommorrow but I got some stuff to do with JR ?

You are right Rob, it was hot today. I was down at FFW in Atlanta and it was 86 degrees, everyone got sun burned. But Don looked good in the heat, he ran an 11.390 in the second round. There were some high 10's ran also, I believe it was JDM. I was suprised at some of the numbers in that heat.

65 degrees and less than 40% humidity....and you think these are poor conditions? That is about as good as it gets in central Texas. If you guy's think these are poor conditions you would hate racing in my neck of the woods! Last time I went to the track in March it was 78 degrees and 76% humidity. No wonder the fastest trucks are in the northeast. I bet you all had a great time and I would love to have been there. I'm in Ft.Worth doing a two day road racing driving school. I'm theonly one dumb enough to drive an L at this event......at least this time.
