Meguiar's NXT review

Tried this stuff out today. Washed with Dawn, then put 3M Imperial Hand Glaze, followed by 2 coats of Meguiar's NXT. Stuff goes on and off super easy and is dustless.

Not as "deep wet" look as Cherry Wet Wax I have used in the past though, but overall I am very satisfied. We'll see how long it lasts now

Not trying to change the thread subject but I used Toughguard wax system about two weeks ago and I've been VERY satisfied. Really great shine and the water just falls off of my truck. I think of it as Rain-X for the paint LOL. We'll see how well it holds up here in about 6 months. Its teflon acrylic materials are supposed to last for years.

Anyways...keep us posted on how long the Meguiar's NXT holds up. I'm very curious as it is a new wax that I've heard good things about..

Zaino is a quality wax, but there are others that are just as good if not better. I've been using NXT and then topped with S100. Gives a nice shine. Just did the boat today and it came out looking pretty good. Keep in mind that this boat has never been garaged and the paint is over 20 years old. The boat is a 1976 with a 460 Ford.

Because Zaino makes black cars look less black, and more like a mirror.

Yeah, he didn't know any better... I think someone corrected him later on in that thread.

The guy that owns it is a former lighting owner, so we keep him around.

Neither Zaino nor Meguiars NXT is a wax. They are a synthetic polish and both will last much longer then normal wax. I know Zaino with 3 coats will last a good 6 months through winters, road salt, grime, and approx. 20 car washes and STILL be on the paint.

I am sure Meguiars NXT will last about the same. They are both excellent quality polishes among many. It really comes down to what “you” like in a shine and durability. NXT and Zaino have not only shine but also very long durability. Other waxes, which don’t have much durability, have excellent shines as well.

So it really comes down to what you like and how long you want the protection to last. Some people love waxing once a month and enjoy using a buffer and can do so with out putting in swirl marks on the paint.

Myself I don’t like polishing once a month unless I “want” to rather then have to. With Zaino (not sure about NXT) you do NOT have to use a buffer and even if you did it would do nothing for the shine. So for people like me who do NOT know how to use a buffer properly and would most like introduce swirls into my paint finish the Zaino is an excellent choice…

It is to each their own and pictures on the Internet do not do justice to any of the polishes or waxes. You could take a dark colored vehicle that has never been waxed/polished and put it next to something that has 5 coats and they would both look about the same as far as a picture. You have to see it in person to see how the wax/polish really looks…

Oh, I also use Zaino because:

Oh and as far as Zaino taking longer that is just a myth or misunderstand…

It does not take any longer with Zaino as compared to any other product IF doing the correct paint surface preparation prior to waxing/polishing…
