Question Detroit Locker???

Did a search and found nothing about the Detroit locker for our trucks. Do any of you use this locker? Can we use it? If so how do you like it? Which unit can we use?

Thanks,

Suavy

I read about a version of the detroit locker coming out for our trucks in a magazine. Ill try to find the add for you, Suavy. The detroit locker is pretty noisy while going around turns though. Pete

Thanks Pete! How's your beast coming along?
I would gladly sacrifice a little noise for above average traction! Never made under a 1.86 60ft time with this truck. Rear end must have been built on a Monday or Friday!

"Detroit Locker" is one of the better "locked differentials", along with "Auburn", etc. But every real "lockers" I recall from the past weren't very "street friendly". If I were to just drive my "L" to the strip and back and park it, maybe I would put up with it - but I probabaly wouldn't want one for a "dailey" driver. Maybe as suggested earlier, there's a new version being brought out that's more street friendly.

The truest form of posi is to put in a spool. I have ran with a spool on the street without a problem, but I had to put up with extreme tire screaching and hopping at every turn. I wouldnt recomend it to anyone. As for my truck , Suavy, its getting there. I had her running briefly, but the head popped up again at 22#s. I think it may be warped and I may have to get a new set of heads.

Sold it allready. I got the SMC kit now. The SMC kit has a controller that goes in the cab. Allows me to vary pump pressure and output.
