My truck is up at my dads right now about 200 miles away. He was going to bring i back last week and as he was driving it he started to lose power to the windows, then radio then all the dash lights, then finally it would stall out.

After about 10 mins it started back up and he made it about another 10 miles and it started doing it again.

Any idea what might be wrong? Think it could have anything to do with my chip i have in it? Truck has 45,000 miles on it now and has really never had any work done to it, only thing modded is the chip and filter.

sounds like an alternator problem, check to make sure all wires are still connected and that the alternator is still serviceable. The reason why the truck will start back up and run for while is because its running off the battery once the battery dumps the truck shuts off. When the battery regenates some power the truck will be able to run again. Take it to a local auto parts store if you can make and have them test your alternator, they do it for free.

 

I'd say alternator too. The first day I had my truck the alternator went out. Good luck with the repair...

Hope you removed your chip before it went to the dealership..... although I'm sure your not under warranty any more.

 

No chip is still in truck has 42,000 miles on it anyways and a year out of warranty.
