Fitting 01 style fog lamps into a 99 bumper??
Has anyone done this? I'm sure it can't be that hard to put the new fogs in the old bumpers. I was told that the brackets are not the same and it won't fit. It can't be that hard to make up some brackets or fit them in there somehow. How have some of you done it? I'm not getting a new bumper to fit these foglights. What is different about the mounting brackets or the style of the fogs?
I saw in the recent pics Charlie had the new fogs in what appears to be a 99/00 Lightning.

Yes it can be done, you need the 01 and up bumper.
There is not a possible way to do this with the 99-00 style bumper. The brackets will not match up, the power plugs are different and where the 01 and up fog attach into the cups of the bumper are allot different.
I was lucky to have someone tap me in the parking lot and screw mine up so I could get a new one.
I still don't have the fogs wired up.........yet.

it can be done with gum and duck tape.
an earlier post was right the 99 and 00 fogs mount with one metal stud, like aftermarket fog lights, through the plastic bumper cover then to a metal bracket..
the 01+ mounts right to the plastic cover with three clips..only way to mount these fogs on a 99 or 00 would be to graph the back of the fog cups from a 01+ onto a 99 00, but u still have to get a hold of a 01+ cover and cut it up..
this is my setup on a 00 with a modified back metal bracket to accept piaa fog's..

Yes, it can be done successfully on any 99 bumper. I've done this to my Lightning in the past with just a few cuts with special glue. You also have to modify your 99 fog light harness to match the 01-04 fog light housing. I did this in the past that worked perfectly fine. Today, I have a 01-03 bumper installed with 01-04 fog lights. (check out my gallery)
