Talking Smack ...

OK,

Rolled up next to a SRT-10 that was being driven
by an "elderly gentlemen" such as myself. From a
30 mph roll he nails it and I followed with the
mirrors neck and neck. I didn't out run him, but he
didn't walk away either. That's a VERY strong truck,
guys.

Oh, yeah, think I should tell him I had 500 lbs of
racing gear in the back AND I was on my safe "road-course"
tune?

Nah, let him think that he spent $59,799 to just keep up
with a Lightning. < grin >

That is what the only Dodge dealer in the area that got any was selling them for, so it is very possible he did pay that.

Yo Cliff,
How'd you do yesterday at SCCA?

Not unless he tells you that he weighs about 2500 lbs. more than you and is completely stock.

It's hard to relate when you're comparing apples to oranges. Why can't we just have it as both trucks are bad and that it allows the consumer more choices. I think it would be great if Chevy got into the act.

Max, I agree with you ... That truck is BAD ...

You would have to be a bigot and pretty stoopid
to not admit that ... But some folks arre BLIND to their
passions, huh?

I even went over and looked at it, and it has
much nicer appointments than our trucks. And
the sound system is 610 watts of nice power
too.

Where's the Chebby entry? MIA, it seems ...

I once had a 25x4 amp and it was extremely loud and crystal clear for 100 watts. Needless to say i was running each channel at 1/2 ohm.
(radio geek joke)

I'm banned from giving the srt-10 truck praise

Yeah, Chevy needs to get their chit together and get in the ball game. I have a feeling Dodge will be switching over to a Hemi with a supercharger in a year or two as the Viper motor is pretty spendy. If Chevy took their Silverado and built a truck similar to the Joe Gibbs supercharged version we would be back in the days of the Ford Torinos (428/429), Chevy Chevelles(396/454) and Dodge Challengers (426/440) but with trucks. Those were the days. I loved eating a few of those Chevy and Dodges with my moms car.

You guys please don't beat me up, but I'm a Chevy guy.I think the Ford is a KICK_ASS truck..but when I make my living in a Chevy dealership..well...Anyway, about 3 years ago, I went to a Service meeting at the GM headquarters in Dallas..The Regional manager was there and told me about the new "SS" that was coming out the next year..He said it SUCKED..He ask to go look at my truck and said "This is what we should be doing!!"
It's a "00 C1500 with a 6.0 with Vette LS6 heads and cam.
true duals. Still running the stock 5.3 computer program, with the rev limiter raised to 6200 and speed limiter up to 128..
18-19 mpg..idles like a stocker..uses regular gas..will run with or beat the Gibbs truck all day..with 3.42 gears running 14.0's still hitting rev limiter..
Now with 4.10 gears, should run 13's..

If they would build this truck it would (SHOULD) be priced right and be what public wanted..I think. MAYBE SOME DAY!!

Thanks for your time.
