just blew a plug on my new-to-me 01

Yeah, so i had my 01 L for about 100 miles (32,6 on the clock now). Went crusiing, punched it on the onramp to about 80 or so... then took it back to 60 and kept it there for about 2 minutes, then out of nowhere POP! and then the pop-pop-pop-pop... was hoping it was just an exhaust manifold or something but found out from the dealer today that it blew the plug and that i need a new head. so it's being replaced under warranty, but still very frustrating considering i just picked it up 2 days ago. No mods that I or the dealer know of except for a muffler. Suspension dropped about 4-5 in front and 6-7 in the rear (getting that changed to a 2-3 eibach) 22" blings. It also took out the inner fenderwell i guess (although it could have been missing in the first place, hard to tell). What can i do to prevent this from happening again? I understand that the heads changed a bit for 03 with 8 threads instead of 4 for the plugs, but i'm not sure what hte dealer's doing to it.. What do you guys think?

I don't think Ford produces the Plug spitting 4 thread heads anymore.

I know it sucks especially after 100 miles, but trust me, you will soon LOVE the truck.

What's funny is how over the phone I predicted it was a blown plug... and I don't even have a lightning.

But after driving yours it makes me want one even more, YOU BASTARD JON!

WOW, that's a big drop, got any pics.

FYI: I changed my plugs a couple of weeks ago. Second plug back on the passengers side was loose. Looks like I got to it just in time. My L had 18,500 miles on it at the time.

You said it's being replaced under warranty on an 01? Did you get the extended warranty?

I just bought a 2002 and it has 9 months of the factory warranty left. If I buy the extended warranty, will plug spitting be covered?
If not, I'm just going to have the plugs checked by the dealer every other oil change. (once a year)

You can borrow my digital camera when you get it back... We should get some pics of it's curent ride height, before you adjust it.
