I've used Meguiars gold class trim detailer on plastic and vinyl and it's good stuff, so I'd give it a try.

I think Meguiar's also has a "Back to Black" product. I've used it on the hoses - works well.

Spray it down with tire dressing, and then let the truck warm up with the hood closed. While it is hot, spray hoses again, and they will always stay shiny. You will be able to wipe them down occasionally if they have any dust or grime on them... and still have a shiny finish underneath.

Dont use any tire dressing- it will attract dust and will make it a mess to clean up next time. use a little WD40 on a rag and wipe it down. then just rinse off. works good.

Wouldnt WD40 also attrack dust and dirt ? And potentially weaken the hose as well ??

WD40 will attract dust too, but thats why i said to rinse it off when your done. He's tring to remove a white substance that was left over from the degreaser. The WD40 will not harm the hose's.

I use a product called CD-2 Engine Detailer that they sell at Auto Zone. It gives everything in the engine compartment a "candy-coated" look, and it doesn't attract too much dust.

If done improperly (just sprayed on), then yes, it will attract dust. This is why you have to warm up the engine after spraying, and then spray again. This will soak the stuff into the rubber of the hoses, and keep a long lasting shiny finish that just needes wiped down occasionally.
This is the shine I am speaking of:

I thought the old stand by was, Half Simple Green/Half water, spray the whole motor down with it, Let soak

Spray off and try not to douse the CP's and then wipe down?

I use the "wipes"...they make the hoses shine and it lasts a long time!

Just used simple green on mine this weekend. It turned the hoses white.

From: Colorado,
YO Fractledragon

Don't forget to clean the bottom side of that hood.

I used the rag with the excess "303" on it and it looked pretty good considering it isn't clear coated.
I tried waxing ounce but it is to grainy and hard to get off. Never do that again.
