L-menace, yes SCT is the company Jerry and Brian (formally of Apten) work for. The chip you have is most likely the same ones I use here, kind of looks like a Diablo chip with no horns, and a green body? The switch has 8 positions, but it's 4 custom tune positions, 1 stock tune position, and 3 anti thefts.
Keith, if your chip has the full "superchips" script on it, I can't do anything with it. If it has "SCT" script on it, then I can reburn it.
Steve, the Autologic chips are single bank, and the SCT chips are 4 bank (as are the Revolution chips). Basically what that means is I have access to more parameters in the PCM with a 4 bank chip. As far as if it's "better", that really depends on what YOU need in a tune for your truck. I never had any problems tuning with single bank Autologics for many years, it just took different approaches to tuning them than the 4 banks do.
Jeff, the SCT 9100 and the Predator both have advantages over each other. The 9100 holds more custom tunes, where the Predator holds one at a time. The Predator has a much better display, and also datalogs, reads codes and allows tuning adjustments. However, within the next few weeks, SCT is supposed to have an update coming out for the 9100 that will give the end user the ability to adjust his tune slightly, just like the Predator. The difference will be the SCT adjustments will be made on your computer, and then you load the adjusted tune into the 9100, whereas the Predator does it all in the unit. So you really just have to decide which suits your needs better.
