Angry blower wont fit?

i was told that a 01-04 supercharger wont bolt up to a 99 intake. would drilling the two back holes out be an option or would it be better to upgrade to a newer intake and intercooler? i have a 99 with the old 9 row intercooler anyway but i dont have a lot of cash flow right now to upgrade. does anyone out there know where i can find one or just drilling the holes for now be acceptable and when i go ahead and change out to the newer style intercooler will the holes i drilled have any effect on how it seals? thanks

curious,
why do you want to replace the blower?
what you want to replace is the INtercooler.
It is expensive, no doubt about it, but it is cheaper than a new engine.

I haven't worked in over 2 years, yet that was one of the first things I did when I bought my 'truck in Jan '03, replaced the intercooler.

I wouldn't change blowers unless you were changing Everything (including the intercooler)

I bought a used 99 and ended up changing the intercooler myslef
(long story). 20k miles

The repair kit came with the new larger intercooler already attached and sealed to the manifold.
It came with gaskets and it was a fairly simple job.

I have had no problems since. 36k miles now showing.

kit was like $750 from fordparts.com

Find a good dealer maybe you can talk to the guy. tell him you think your cooler is loosing coolant maybe he'll cut you a deal because they were recalled. maybe even do it for free!

Bryce
Here is where I got mine

http://fordparts.com/
Here is the Part number XL3Z-9424-AB

It is secured connection so you will have to go in yourself.

Good Luck with your project.

Just some words from experience. It is sometimes better to cough up or wait and do the job right, than cut corners and struggle to save some money.

I know your doing your best and thats the last thing you want to hear.
Peace
