Since this is my first lightning i thought i better ask a question to those who know because i don't how many miles should i have on lightning before engine starts to run good i have got 3400 on the 2003 lightning thanks for your input

I got 350 miles and last night I left a little brown spot in my shorts.

I likey just a tad more than my last one.

 

Mine started feeling stronger about the 3000 mile mark.

What exactly do you mean by running good?, is your truck not running good?, as your truck gets more mileage on it (3-4000 miles) it will loosen up a little and you will gain a little more power.

 

I think I have the answer to this one. Your L is running just fine. When you first get one, it generally feels really fast (depending on what you just got out of, for me it was an Expedition). After driving the L for a while, I became used to the new power, and my truck didn't feel like it was running as good as it did new. Put on a couple of mods, and the fun factor came back. Got used to that, and it felt like it had slowed down again. Etc., etc. I now have a truck that puts out nearly 420 HP to the rears, and it feels slow again. After driving the wifes Mustang GT, and getting back in the L, the L feels plenty fast again.

In short, nothings wrong, you're just used to the power. It seems to be a never ending cycle. JMHO

 

You are right on brother i just wanted to make sure that my mind wasn't playing tricks on me 3400 miles on it and this lightning i just barely touch the throttle and it wants to take of if i don't watch it it will bark the tires when chaning gears

You can only Mod it so much before it goes BOOM
BUT
When you leaved it parked and dont drive it for the daily to and from work B/S and only take it out for those SPECIAL RIDES,
it's like new found power EACH AND EVERY TIME

That reminds me last year at the dragstrip. Me and this very good sounding 5.0L pull up to the lanes together. He's clearly got a cam, no cat exhaust, and nice sized ET streets. I was thinking ut-oh he might eat my lunch! We launch and I was amazed.. Even though he launched very good, he only ran a mid 13. I was just sitting there on the couch.. er I mean the lightnings sport seat and looking over my right shoulder til I could'nt see him anymore. He was so far behind it really made me realize how quick these things are.

They just are'nt nearly as dramatic as a lot of other muscle cars.
