brakes rattling, help

what is this piece, and how did i manage to break it? how do i fix this? it is the piece sticking out off of the bottom of the caliper. it slides out and makes contact with the wheel.

that piece is an anti rattle and wear clip.should be able to order just that from the stealer,but might have to buy 4 to get just the one.Stan
