I'm a new owner. Can anyone tell me a couple of inexpensive mods that I can do to my 99L. Chips....pulleys and where is the best place to get them? Do I need them installed or can I do it myself?

Question Mods

If your looking to save some money on some mods, try looking in the classifieds, you can find some good deals on used pulleys, chips and other things. you can install a chip and pulley your self, its not hard to do.

You will probably have the best luck sticking with the 3 main tuners, which would be powersurge performance, Johnny Lightning, and JDM. you pretty much couldn't go wrong with anything there. A word to the wise: RPM outlet seems like they ahve really good deals but people have lots of problems with them shipping hte incorrect beltsize to go with pulleys. and you don't get a custom tune if you buy a predator/filter kit from them, and the stock predator tunes (the general consensus) suck. I'm purchasing a chip/pulley from Johnny Lightning really soon. To keep cost down I'm going with a single program Chipmaster Revolution. The main difference between that and hte diablosport is that the CMR is a fully custom tune built by Johnny. same goes for the other main tuners. No off the shelf stuff here. Hopes this answers some of your questions. And welcome to the board.
