How many #'s of boost are you running on the street? I just installed Dynatech LT's and cats and it feels like Ive lost a little boost. I have a 4# lower and metco upper right now and was thinking of putting a 6# on the crank. My Lightning is not a daily driver, so Im thinking the 6# lower wont hurt, might need a reburn though!

My stock gauge does about 14lbs however accurate that is...

5lb lower, 90mm maf + fastair, JBA shorties + magnaflow cat-back and chip are my boosty afecters.

My daily driver.

I just replaced my Autometer boost gauge (other one crapped out) and I'm showing 13, seems like I'm missing a lb somewere. But I run a 6lb as DD.

I just got in some longtubes today and I have about the same setup you do and I was wondering....Could you feel a power difference when you installed the LT's? Seat of the pants difference? If so, how much?? Thanks!

silver2002- The sound is enough to give you wood! I did notice a little better throttle response and low end torque, but havent
noticed much in the mid range to top end. It may just be me, but I was a little dissapointed in the power results. But the sound is to die for! Thats why Id like to put a 6# on the crank to make up for the boost it seems I lost. It just doenst seem as fast as it was. The exhaust now drounds out my blower whine. Use to all you could hear was the blower. Ive gotten several compliments on the way it sounds already! With the windows up, its not loud inside the cab at all. But with them down.........

That is a little MORE than dissapointing....I just forked out about $1300 for headers and high flow cats and I'm not going to even get much in the power dept?? Thats the main reason I got them...I really thought they would help out on the top end.

You didn't search around before you bought them? Exhaust on Lightnings seems to be for noise only...

1300 for Headers and Cats, 600 for a Catback... Thats $2000 bucks for noise that gains maybe 5hp.

personally there not worth the money, some extra horsepower and you'll lose some torq, didn't really notice any the "seat of your pants differance" , it was last of my mods and the truck i guess just feels fast.

A real noticable differance in sound as the exhaust is loud, lost 1lb of boost as i was running a 6lb pulley at the time.

i believe this is a great mod for people that run the 6lb and higher pullies and the built block guys who are running 450 rwh and higher as it opens the exhaust up which i would beleive it would allow the engine to run cooler.

I don't know about the rest of you, but for me it seems the louder it gets the "slower" it feels, or maybe you are expecting it to get faster with the increased sound. This has happened on many vehicles for me after an exhaust swap. I think the reason you aren't feeling the "seat of the pants" gain is because the sound is brain washing you. This is just my opinion though and none of it is fact. -Mat-

I run 16PSI on the street according to my autometer gauge. KB blower, 8lb lower, 3.0 upper.

Got Boost !!!

Well, I'm running 16 lbs. of boost with my 3.5 upper pulley on a KB blower. That just made 575 RWHP on the dyno, and this is my street tune. After putting on a 3.2 upper pulley it made 612 RWHP, which is my race setup. Johnny at JLP did a great job installing Stage 3 cams and his ported and polished heads along with his new aluminum upper power flow plenum to attain these numbers. Cool air in the Fall should be very productive. This is running JLP's 10 Lb. lower pulley.

prob 19-20lbs on the street. I see 16-17 on the autometer. the loss because of long tubes, ported and polished heads, oversized valves.

8lb lower+1lb upper+ported blower=

JohnnyAC, great numbers that JLP is top shelf!

I run now runing 18 lb daily and 26 at the track. However I haven't ran the 26 lb this year yet saving some cash for race tune. I live in Michigan so it's a long way to JDM, JLP, PSP, RAZOR EDGE.
