seems as if your torque is off a bit. with my setup i'm only seeing 12 pounds of boost at 5400 rpm which is what i have my rev limit set to and on the dyno my torque peaked at 411 and hp at 351. seems like with over 500 hp you should be seeing a lot more torque than that.

Glad to see you got the beast going well. Wont the TQ loss hurt though? TQ gets you moving and a Lightning is pretty heavy.

What types of Boost could you run with a built block?

ScrewOnBudnik20,

centrifugal, not eaton.

Rdy2rac, quick question, how safe are you feeling with a 6k shift? I know a couple people have done it with the eatons, but i always kinda considered that a bad idea. If rob was doing it, we know its a bad idea . Does the fact that its a cent make higher revs a safer thing? I can see detonation being less of an issue as opposed to an eaton or twin screw, but 6000 rpm is 6000 rpm. Just seems like a lot for such a long stroke engine.

Also, when you do build your block, are you intending to go higher?

i guess my setup is just more efficient
than his go ProCharger. not to knock his setup in any way. as he also knows where the most power and best times will be found. and that is in a cent blower that dosent fall in its face halfway down the track.

Don't want you guys to feel like you've bveen left hanging so I wanted to let you know that hubby won't have any internet acces this weekend since he's staying at the track.

I will try to answer what questions I can but so far the ones posed I should leave to him.

The dyno: I believe they have both types & Rob would have mentioned if it was on a mustang dyno.

Once the built block is done we will up the boost starting wherever we leave off this fall. As it sits right now Livernois is scared to tune it up too much since they now we can't replace the block till this winter. They were even a little surprised that we upped the boost this far with the season only 1/2 over. They compensated some by keeping the tune as safe as possible with the boost level.

Ok, I'll leave the rest of the direct questions about the blower to him.

Update from the track.... Rob made his first run:
11.80 @ 115 MPH
1.81 60 ft

He says he spun bad off the line & pegged the boost gage on the run.

More to follow as he checks in.

For what its worth, he wanted me to mention that the tech crew were checking for stuff in the
bed (however you want to call it). They said that at the last event in Martin, MI a truck's
tailgate dropped on the launch & everything he had in the bed ended up on the starting line.
Just an FYI.
