00-01 A-pillars....Lotek or Autometer?

Which ones fit better for the 00-01 interiors with the curved style A-pillar handles, or doesnt it make a difference.

Looking for a triple guage pod so i'd lose the handle anyway, but i've heard so many threads where people will post one brand is better, then the very next thread says the total opposite. just wanted to double check one last time before i order

O yeah, while i'm talking about A-pillars and handles, i will have a spare A-pillar handle for sale that is Leather wrapped on the ends with Carbon Fiber on the center. since i wont be able to use it with any of the pods since i haven't been able to find a dual pod that would let me keep the handle on the curved handle style..which is why i'm just gonna do a triple pod.

Thanks for the help. would like to order the pod wednesday

Mine's an '02, but its the early version with the curved O ***** handle. I used the Lotek and was pleased with the fit. I have photos in my gallery (search under my user name - I haven't figured out signitures and links yet).

The base of the windshield portion flairs out a bit more than I'd like and there's a slight curve along the weatherstripping side, but I am REAL **** on those details. I get alot of complements on the install. The only down side is the use of the visor - the upper gauge blocks the visor and vice versa. I've just gotten used to squinting.

Good luck,
Herb

p.s. - here's a photo to make it easier...(crappy background)

Is that the color the lotec was from the factory? Don't they have either gray or black pods?

The lotek comes in a matching color, while you have to paint the Autometer. Personally, I think the grain in the Autometer matches a little better though.

My dual Lotek fits like ***, but mine is an 04. They took the 2-guage off their sales sheet the same week I ordered mine, due to fitment issues. Go figure, just my luck!

I have an '01 and ordered both the Lotek and Autometer pillar pods. The Lotek left a gap of about 1/4" top and bottom while the Autometer fit perfectly. This may have been before Lotek changed their pillar pods as it was about two years ago. The only downside to the Autometer is you have to prime (plastic primer) and paint it, which isn't really that difficult.

mines an 01 with the Lotek

Fits fine and the color matches great. Only problem is the clip that holds it in, removed the pillar pod 4 or 5 times and the clip got bent. Straighten it out with a pair of needle-nose and all seems well

I'd like to get rid of the 0h,sh.. handle on the right side of my 2003. I prefer the look of the clean pillar

Does anyone know if any of the f-150s (not just the Lightnings) came with a smooth right hand A-pillar?

Don't care about the color, since the Autometer left side pod needs paint.
