Don't list your mods. We all have them. We are not impressed. And do we really need to know what oil you run, your best stock time, or what seat covers you have?
Use your sig only ONCE in a thread.
Use proper spelling and grammar.

Just relax and be yourself. Some folks will like you and some won't.

Dear Mr. Tim Skelton,
For being a “newbie” and not knowing proper posting signature etiquette. I most humbly apologize. I seemed to be following what I seen being done by the majority of the people who post on this site. Again, I’m sorry if I’ve offended your intelligence as a reader by posting a signature that you see as superfluous.
I have been surfing this and other "L" sites since I made my purchase in Jan 03. I became a member here shortly after that time. I may be a “newbie” as you state but only in the regard of posts. And in that matter I haven't posted only because I was still learning and until recently I felt I certainly had a too limited amount of knowledge with this vehicle to make any contributions in regard of fact or opinion. But I have been gaining much from reading about what everyone is doing. And too from what I‘ve done to my “L“ over this time. It sure does help to benefit from others experience in their failures and success stories. And for that I thank all of those who do post .
Over the last 45 years I have continually been involved in some phase of the automotive sport. I have owned and raced first Corvettes and for the last 10 years occupied in the restoration and running of 2nd and 3rd generation Porsches . And I thought some of those aficionados had a bit of a “holier than thou attitude.” Amazing. I’ve discovered you find them in every stage of life. In business or recreation it makes not a difference. And I’m getting to old to waste my time defending what is or is NOT my ignorance.
So Mr. Skelton I will remove my signature from this board and most likely not post again. It’s friendly people like you that seem to help a lot of we “newbies” to go somewhere else or to just be quiet and not contribute anything. The offense here I have taken personal. You making fun of me. And as I've read, other’s in the past with your curt, unforgiving and unsympathetic tongue.
In short you’ve made me feel like an idiot.
And that Mr. Skelton I am certainly not!
I’m sure you’ll have a rebuttal to this. That is your nature. However don’t think that I’ll be reading as I’ve now much more important things to do.

Well Day-um,

Look at what I started...

Herb

It is a bit ironic though, that after about 70 posts and 8 months of lurking, learning and a little contribution...this little post gets so much attention - (I'd still like to know if my EGT probe should be exposed or shielded)

I would have to agree. Just don't make it obnoxious.
