Just Bought an '03 L

Hey everybody. This is my first post, hope I don't bore you to death. I have been in Iraq for six months now, and it took me eight hours a day, of daily scouring the internet to find a reasonably priced '03 close to home. I finally found one three days ago in TN. Alot of you have posted about the great deals you have managed to get in the past, and believe me, I looked, but the best I could do was $26 for an '03 Lightning with 3800 miles. Every place in north AL wanted close to thirty for a truck with the same mileage. Too bad I don't know the same people some of you do.
The only mods to the truck are a K&N drop-in filter, and a 2" drop in the rear that the original owner put on. Everything else will have to wait six more months for me to get home.
I just wanted to thank all of you for supporting this site. It has proved invaluable over this deployment. I think it's just a wonderful community and I'm proud to be a new part of it.

That's a fair price for a 03 L with such few miles. Like you said, not everyone can get special pricing and it is often regional.

Thats not a bad price. The dealer near me is adding close to 3k on as a "mark up" So they are asking about 34 - 35 for a brand new one. I never did like them.

Welcome back, are you in the AF?

31C-

Army Guard. Activated for this rotation in OIF-II. Maybe you guys misunderstood, but we aren't supposed to come home until Feb. '05. I bought the truck without ever physically seeing it. I had my dad go to TN to check it out. I should meet my new baby when I go home in two weeks. I'm assuming you're Air Force since you asked. I'm not sure how the USAF MOS assignments are, but I'm a 31F. I'm here to tell you, if we come back over here, Commo is where I want to be. You can't beat surfing the internet for eight hours while you're on shift.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everybody.

Naw, Im in the Army Guard too. I just figured you might be AF because of the "short" 6 months. They dont seem to deploy for very long. (Something about missing cable TV). I got back from a Homeland Defense mission and bought my truck. But we are supposed to be going "overseas" in 05. Good to see another commo guy around. If you guys go back and need a 31C let me know, cause Im looking for a unit to take me with them.
