how quick are WS6 TA's

on my way home I had this kid in a WS6 try and play with me... I didnt really want to because I was tired and just not in mode... well, he insisted so I thought I would shut him up...

ha, was I wrong... he stomped me... I got beat from a dead stop and again from like a 20 punch....both times we ended around 100-120... and he was about 1-2 car lengths ahead of me

i talked to him afterwards and he showed me his car.... all he has right now is exhaust and some programer....

is this typical? It was a hot day like 90+ outside... but he showed me his time slip at the local 1/8 and his best time ever was 8.7

my last ones were 8.2's...

what gives?

a stock WS6 is usually in the mid-low 13's on street tires with a decent driver... i usually run 8.1's 8.0's @ around 86 mph...the T/A's at my local track do run 8.5's-8.7's but at almost the exact same mph i do...they have a great top end...i ran my buddys SS camaro with the same LS1 motor in the WS6 from a 40 roll...i pull 2 cars on him instantly but past 100 he just coast on by me..street racing and track racing are very diffrent..like me and my friends 03 cobra raced at the track... the entire 1/8 mile i was a tenth second ahead of him he ran 8.29 i ran 8.28 my mph was 85 his was 88...allthough i ran a faster time..at the end of the track he was passing me and passed the line before me! its a fact...you can have a better track time..but those with a higher trap speed always wins a street race...

In 2001 I bought 98 Trans-Am LS1 6-Speed. It was bone stock with 12K miles on it.

I took it to the drags and ran a 13.10@106 and a 13.19@107 on bone stock tires and paper filter.

They are pretty quick with the right driver. From a dead stop you should be able to take one with a Pulley/Chip'd L if you launch right.

The best I could do at the track was a 2.09 which sucks.. My L has been 1.87 on stock F1s.

They can be made to run 110mph pretty easily... Don't run from a roll, especially the sticks.

beat one stock for stock 3 times, same results. hole shot. he started to pull 3/4 down the track, but once we got up to about 95 or so, he stayed about 5 ft off my back bumper.

me 13.4x and 13.4x
he 13.5x and 13.6x

talked to him the rest of the day, and we was cool.....he ended up running about 10 times that day, 13.5x-13.6x all day.

very beatable at the track

I went 12.5 @ 112 with just a lid (intake) and full exhaust in my 02 WS6.
